Children
Children
Portlantis is a really fun destination for children of all ages.
You’ll discover how the port works, what it means to our daily lives and what the port of the future looks like.
Experience the port in surprising ways. From scavenger hunts through the building to augmented reality films. From loading and unloading containers yourself to standing at the helm of a tug in a real-life simulator.
From seal spotting on a boat trip to a spectacular attraction that takes you on an incredible flight through the port. End the day with a delicious ice cream, clamber around the outdoor playground equipment or just enjoy the beach for a little while.
Activities
Art, technology and experiments
Are you a little older? Then you can get really creative in Portlantis. Paint a canvas or a stone from the Maasvlakte beach to create a fun memento of your day at the port. Practise with the technology in the lab and do some chemical experiments.
Shop
Looking for the perfect memento of an awesome day? Then don’t forget to stop by the shop in the terminal on the ground floor. Here you’ll find fun souvenirs: from magnets to pens, stuffed animals and Lego sets.
Fossil expedition
Go on a fossil expedition led by fossil hunter Walter Langendoen. On the Maasvlakte beach, he explains the search for archaeological and palaeontological treasures. Who knows, you might even find a mammoth bone!
Keep an eye on the calendar for other fun activities for children.
