The state-of-the art experience centre stands on the frontier between land and sea in the south west of Maasvlakte 2. It is a unique destination full of interaction where young and old will discover all about the port: how it works, what impact the port has and how it is transforming into the future.

Your journey of discovery includes augmented reality, research labs where you conduct your own technical and chemical experiments, a spectacular attraction that takes you on a dizzying virtual tour through the port and all kinds of models of the most impressive sea-going vessels, trains and trucks.

For those wanting the real deal, enjoy an expedition by coach, ship or on foot. Our guides will take you to see sights such as the world’s largest container ships in the port area. There is also lots to discover in and around the building. Climb the giant stairs that frame the building to conquer the panoramic deck. Enjoy a beach walk, go on a fossil expedition, have a breather during your bike ride or reserve a table with breathtaking views in our fourth-floor restaurant.

A visit to Portlantis and the port guarantees you a day full of awe-inspiring moments. We create bespoke programmes making use of all the activities and facilities on offer, such as our conference rooms, the film theatre and the restaurant. Portlantis has ample parking for passenger cars and coaches.
