Zoning terminals
Protect parts of the site by placing physical barriers such as partitions, walls or barriers (temporary or otherwise). It reduces the flood risk because a smaller section of the site will be flooded or it will take longer for the entire site to be inundated.
- Applicable to land;
- Spatial adaptation;
- Permanent measure;
- Substantial investment;
- Prevents economic damage;
- Applicable at all flood depths.
Zoning that only delays the flooding of certain parts of a site may also be useful. It will then take longer for the entire area to flood, resulting in more time for evacuation or emergency measures.
