Water resistant building materials
Water resistant materials limit or prevent damage in the event of a flood. This can be done, for example, by applying concrete floors.
- Applicable to buildings;
- Spatial adaptation;
- Permanent measure;
- Substantial investment;
- Prevents economic damage;
- Applicable at all flood depths.
Water-resistant floor and wall finish
To limit the damage to buildings that can occur in the event of flooding, it is better to choose for a water-robust tile, cast concrete or PVC floor instead of a more vulnerable wooden floor. After a flood, a water-resistant floor does not suffer permanent damage and you can easily clean it.
Water-resistant construction
To limit damage to the structure of buildings in case of flooding, you can choose for water-resistant building materials such as concrete walls, columns and foundation slabs, instead of wooden structures.
