Flood-resilient assets and facilities
Make facilities, utilities and assets water-resistant.
- Applicable to utilities, products, goods, factories and installations;
- Spatial adaptation;
- Permanent measure;
- Substantial investment;
- Prevents economic and environmental damage;
- Applicable at all flood depths.
When buying or building new assets in a flood zone, opt for flood-resilient products or materials. Products or assets must be able to cope with water pressure. Flood-resilient products should be cleaned after a flood.
Position installations above the water level and use flood-resilientmaterials for assets. Pipes that are heavier or firmly mounted are less likely to float during flooding.
Appliances in rooms that may be inundated should be connected to a separate group in the fuse box. You can turn off that group in the event of a flood.
