Barrier of containers
Containers can be used to make a temporary barrier around a site or building by linking them together. The barrier of containers will not be completely watertight but it will slow the water down, gaining more time for emergency measures and evacuation.
• Applicable to land, buildings;
• Crisis management;
• Temporary measure;
• Small investment;
• Prevents economic damage;
• Applicable at flood depths up to approx. 100 cm.
It is important to position the containers in order that they can withstand the pressure of the water and the wave impact. This means that there must be enough ballast in the containers and that they should be heavy enough. Waterproof slabs between the containers can make a barrier of this kind more watertight.
