French company Air Liquide announced a project to develop, build and operate a 200MW electrolyser at the first conversion park on the Maasvlakte. This renewable and low-carbon hydrogen plant named “ELYgator” will be ready at the end of 2027.

The Port of Rotterdam Authority has reserved space for this electrolyser on the Maasvlakte conversion park. The Port Authority supports the project by providing the necessary utilities for future operation of the electrolyser. After Shell's Holland Hydrogen I, this is the second large-scale renewable and low-carbon hydrogen project in Rotterdam.
Air Liquide is an important party in Rotterdam that currently already supplies many companies with industrial gases, including the supply of hydrogen. The Port of Rotterdam Authority is delighted that Air Liquide is now announcing this step, thus contributing to making industry in the Benelux more sustainable.
