Together with other parties, the Port of Rotterdam Authority is working on a complete and sustainable logistics chain for LNG. The port of Rotterdam Authority is one of the initiators of the LNG Master Plan, which focuses on the development of an LNG infrastructure in the Rhine-Main-Danube area.
In October 2013, the Port of Rotterdam Authority and its partners received two European subsidies. 40 million euros are earmarked for the LNG Master Plan, while the European Union provided a 34 million grant for the construction of LNG break bulk terminals in Gothenburg and Rotterdam.
